PVOGS Gynaecological Laparoscopic Surgery Skills

This face-to-face PVOGS ANZ workshop will combine both an engaging presentation and a more-hand on skills component. The session will commence with a 45-minute presentation by one of our advanced laparoscopic surgeons on a general introduction of laparoscopic surgery to participants. The session will then continue to the more practical component. This will be split into ‘Basic Laparoscopic Skills’ followed by ‘More Advanced Laparoscopic Skills’ with a morning tea break in between. The session will develop participants’ laparoscopic gynaecology skills through a series of interactive exercises. Participants will be supported in each step of the practical component by our knowledgeable and experienced demonstrators. There will be a focus on ensuring sufficient individualised feedback is given to each delegate throughout the morning – with adequate facilitators to delegate ratio. This is a rare opportunity for junior doctors and medical students to be immersed in practical skills under the guidance of professional colleagues.
