Laparoscopic Surgery Workshop

Join us for a half day of didactic lectures, case studies, simulation and practical skills in laparoscopic surgery. At the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Select appropriate patients for laparoscopic surgery
  • Perform the procedure safely and competently with a good knowledge of different entry techniques (Veress, Palmer, Hassan)
  • Recognise the complex patient who is beyond your scope of practice
  • Avoiding complications and how to handle them when they occur
  • Competently manage the complex patients with raised BMI,
    co-morbidities or significant past surgical history
  • Incorporate electrosurgical devices into their normal practice
