How the Prophylactic use of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy can improve outcomes for Caesarean Section Patients

The increased risk of Caesarean section wound breakdown can be linked to a number of factors including gestational diabetes and elevated patient BMI. This education event aims to illustrate the efficacy of a hospital wide protocol integrating single use Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (sNPWT) as a preventative measure within a comprehensive care bundle.  This initiative has yielded a significant decrease in instances of Caesarean section wound breakdown, consequently enhancing patient satisfaction and overall healthcare experience.
