The increased risk of Caesarean section wound breakdown can be linked to a number of factors including gestational diabetes and elevated patient BMI. This education event aims to illustrate the efficacy of a hospital wide protocol integrating single use Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (sNPWT) as a preventative measure within a comprehensive care bundle. This initiative has yielded a significant decrease in instances of Caesarean section wound breakdown, consequently enhancing patient satisfaction and overall healthcare experience.
Lunch Sessions
Using a case study lens, the session will explore a series of escalating patient concerns to help you understand how to manage patient expectations, complications and complaints (and avoid them happening again). Georgie Haysom, the Head of Education Research and Advocacy at Avant, chats with Ruanne Brell, senior solicitor with our Medico-legal Advisory Service, about some of the common situations that can cause you concern. There will be an opportunity for Q&A with the audience.
