In 2024, the RANZCOG Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) was held in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand.
The theme “Partnerships in Practice” underscores the fundamental importance of partnerships across every facet of our roles as Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Our connection with the women under our care was the most evident partnership we engaged in as individual practitioners. Collaboratively, we made decisions regarding investigations and treatments in conjunction with our patients and their whānau (family).
New Fellows and Awards
The New Fellows & Awards Presentation Ceremony and Reception was held at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand on Sunday 13 October 2024.
75 New Fellows and 8 Subspecialists were presented to the Fellowship during the Presentation Ceremony.
They were joined by an additional 237 delegates and guests, including family and friends.
Free Communications, 3-Minute Thesis, Static Posters and ePosters
A total of 186 abstracts were received for consideration for Free Communication (oral presentation), 3-Minute Thesis (oral presentation), Static Poster or ePoster presentation. Abstracts were assessed by nominated members of the Organising Committee and the wider RANZCOG Fellowship against pre-defined assessment criteria, with authors notified of their inclusion on the program or otherwise in mid-July.
During the main program days, 95 ePosters were displayed electronically in the ePoster Presentation Zone, 16 abstracts were presented as Free Communications, 40 as Static Posters and 15 as 3-Minute Thesis.
